I bought a receiver blank, mounted it just behind the surface of the
bumper (not flush), drilled my own pin hole and now my receiver plate
fits flush with the surface of the bumper. Very nice appearance. Most
trailer supply shops have different length receiver blanks. The whole
thing weighs about 80 lbs less than the boat anchor that was on the coach
when I bought it and is easily as strong, if not stronger. It's quite
similar to the through the bumper hitch advertised in the GMC
publications.
