Glad you enjoyed our toll booth story
. The idea we had for more
traction was very similar to the one you mention, only it was going to be
much more of a manual control type thing. We just couldn't justify messing
with the brake system that much just for a little more traction. We didn't
like the idea that something in our system could malfunction and cause us
not to have any brakes.
I don't see a real ABS system happening for the GMC any time soon. You
would need wheel speed sensors on the wheels (all 6 for good ABS). You
would need some type of computer to control the whole operation. It would
be much more complicated and expensive than the Brakeguard "ABS" system
that some owners have installed. You might be able to use a production
auto system if you only wanted 4 of the brakes controlled.
