I am looking to BUY one of the "original" tow hitches that
was an available option on GMC's.

It is the hitch that mounts to the rear cross member using the
same 8 bolt pattern as the spare tire carrier. The mounting plates
on the hitch were identicle to those of the spare tire carrier.

Anyone have one for sale???

If so call Email me direct at

or call
toll-free at 888-766-4835

Thanks

If you have a second one, let me know. I am in the market for a hitch
for my 76 PB and tow bar for my 97 Jeep Wrangler. I just got a verbal
quote over the phone from a local trailer hitch shop and he estimated
$200 to $300 for the hitch and $900 for the tow bar.
Seems a little steep doesn't it???

There is a tow hitch made specifically for the GMC that bolts right up
to the frame. Call Paul Bennett @803-799-4323 It is call the
centerline hitch model FM-2 and it was $289 +SH last year. Go to this
site and see both hitch and toad!

Rick

Not sure what you are towing, I only tow a Suzuki Samurai (2100#).
I bought my tow bar for $97 at Camping World. Not fancy. But it has
worked well for me for over 12000 miles of towing the Suzuki. Added
lights from Wal-mart for $49, and a set of chains (got from friend).

I can hook up and be ready to go in less than 5 minutes (unless someone
stops to talk).

My 78 has the old std hitch that GM put on. Light duty, but great
for what I tow. I want the same thing for my Stretch.

I like it SIMPLE! :)

Hope that helps
