I received my refurbished Roadmaster II towbar yesterday and had my
friend open it as my back still doesnt allow this sort of thing. It is
in great shape and, I feel, a good buy at $195.00. On a hunch, I
measured the spacing on the bar to the spacing on the Demco mounting
plate I have already mounted to the Tracker. No go. Specs in their
catalog and web page show 24" spacing between the mounting points,
actual is 22.5". It appeared that someone in manufacturing welded the
inside pieces on the wrong side of the oustide pieces. I gave them a
call.
I called them and after 20 minutes on hold for engineering, a very
helpful receptionist printed up and blew up the production drawings.
They show 22-1/2" center to center. The literature does not match the
production drawings. The boss is supposed to call me first thing in the
morning.
I guess taking the Tracker to Pennsylvania tommorow is out of the
question. I already had doctors orders not to drive.
