GMCers
It is my opinion that we, in the GMC community, are getting
'shafted' at Toll Stations.

We are classified, because we have a tandem rear axle, as a
commercial vehicle. A tractor, as in tractor trailer, pays the Same
toll as we do,..... same number of axles.

I think it is time we did something about it. I don't mind paying the
price of a car-and-a-half, but I see no reason to be paying a
commercial rate when it is clear to anyone, that we are operating a
Recreational Vehicle !!

Has anyone successfully lobbied a Turnpike Board ??

I am also sending a copy of this to Max Rockafellow, President of
GMC Motorhomes International. Max, I hope you're feeling better
and that you're up to the task of Harassing some Government
Officials :-)

Comments and suggestions appreciated.

I know that Dallas Jensen managed to get the Toll Authority at the
Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel to accept that GMCs are different

He eventually had them copy and post photos of GMC motorhomes at the toll
booths! Saves $5.00 each trip.

We need a copy of what they are posting. I drive in the SF bay area,
and always pay a ton..... Last week paid $12.50 on a $2.00 toll bridge.
I was towing my toad.

Webster's defines an Axle as: 1. a rod on which a wheel turns, or one
connected to a wheel so that they turn together; 2, a) a bar connecting two
opposite wheels, as of an automobile b) the spindle at either end of such a
bar. Based on this, maybe our GMC's don't have any axles. On roads that
charge by the axle, we should go free :We need a copy of what they are posting. I drive in the SF bay area,
