Toilet removal help

Wishing you all the best for health in 2017,

I've been making progress on the refresh of my 75 Royale, and have had success finding answers for some of my challenges but not much luck when I
search removal for my toilet.

I would like to remove it and can't find a how-to for my specific Aurora model, I do not have the small access port on the top seat area as some
searches have mentioned,

Any help is appreciated as well as suggestions for a replacement unit if that's the decision I take?

Thanks Mr. Fisher, I did read through this information, depending on which toilet I go with this will be quite helpful during installation.

Thanks for the link Jon, as strange as it seems my toilet, model AURORA (CP) WHT, PART NO: 19231, CODE: 961C30 OR 961030 does not have the access
plug. At first I thought I was looking in the wrong place but not easy to miss, simply not there?

The toilet appears to be in good shape and while out to do flooring I may decide to replace it which is why I'm asking for suggestions. I purchased
the coach back in October and never tested the toilet, the PPI didn't reveal any issues but I may purchase a new one while it's out anyway.

I thought about keeping my old toilet too. But the dometic 310 was pretty darn inexpensive in the scheme of things. And added a little nicer feel
to the bathroom, and a few owners had stories that there wives really liked the toilet upgrade.

You can download a manual for the Aurora toilet. Just search goggle under Thetford Aurora toilet. It is not on the Thetord site.
This is a ceramic bowl toilet that I had for many years. It worked very well and was easy to clean.
It had a horizontal slide valve. After a few years my valve began to leak and started to rust.. The toilet had been discontinued. They wanted $80 for a new valve assembly so I decided to replace the toilet.
I bought a Thetford Aqua Magic with the foot flush pedal. This was also a ceramic bowl but had an elongated seat. I bought the high profile model which has the seat about 17-1/2” from the floor rather than the 13” of the Aurora. This brings my elbows above the bathroom counter which I find much better. The Aqua Magic has several updated features and is much easier to install.
The Aqua Magic has a “half ball” rotary valve which works better and is very self cleaning.

I dissembled the Aurora and cleaned up the rusted parts of the slide valve and found a new seal which together with some silicone sealant solved the leak problem. I then sold the Aurora on Craigs list for $60.

GMC cruse... thanks for the link to the drawing, I did find this during my generic search for the toilet model and since there wasn't any additional
information I decided to keep looking. I didn't pay much attention to the placement of the mounting in the drawing. This may be helpful in locating
them, thanks for the tip.

lqqkatjon...thank-you for the link to the Dometic 310 model, I have heard this unit discussed and it seems like a good choice if I decide to purchase,

Mike,

You realize we are working OLD memories here, but the side panels - part 9 - are how you get to the hold down bolts. You should only need to loosen
them about a couple of turns before you can spin them off with a finger tip. I remember lying on the floor and looking in through the pedal space.
