Arch, I have known two different individuals that have toad these vehiclesfor
many moons and I have yet to hear of a problem. In one instance, I'm sure that
the whole world would know immediately. Good luckl

Arch,
I tow a 91 GEO Tracker with is a cousin of the Suzuki Sidekick, I have
the soft top and do not have any problems with anything coming loose.

Mine has a hard top and It is great..... I like it a lot.

Arch,
It is the one piece top. JC Whitney sells the replacement tops at a
good price.

Arch, We had a fibreglass top on our Tracker toad. It made it much quieter
while under way and provided a sense of security over the cloth top. The
front section pops off easily for that "convertable" feel. They run about
$1K, and I'd strongly recommend it, though I doubt the turbulance behind
the GMC would cause damage unless the top were already damaged.

How much turbulance could there be??? I would think that
the GMC would have a calm area that close to the rear???
Just me thinking???

It is really bad back there for the toads. I just came back from a 3 week
trip and it rained most of the way. I think the toad was 300 lb heaver
with all of the dirt and crud all over it. I wonder if a soft top would
ever stand up to this blast in a really dirty trip.

I know one GMC er who had some road trash break his dump system. Guess
what was sprayed all over his poor little Tracker ??? Wonder if that
would seep into a soft top.

Only that, as a general rule, fibreglass should be stronger (and probably
pricier, also).

Arch I pull a suzuki with removable fiberglass tops. Happy with what
I've got. One thing, you can lock the hardtop up not too sure about the
softtop.
