Hi all,
Well made the short trip to Lake Havesu to Canyon Tire and Auto-RV. (Temps.
peaked at 118* on our trip per GMC outside temp. gauge. Avg.speed 40mph
peaked 84mph, before gramps looked at me!! And, Me saying, "Gotta check
for tire bounce") for our two front tires/ & fishing, Code date HJJ 2-4-9,
guess in
early 99.(they had 3 out of six tires from yesterday when I called ?) $30
more
than Country tire & Wheel in Bakersfield CA.. All ran great including Onan
and
both A/Cs which ran for the whole seven and ahalf hours of our day trip,
well
engine was off for few hours while me and greatgrampa got the big one!!!!
And
granny and my heart of hearts watched and kept them pain-in-the-butt mutts
inline.
Well they did not have the correct adapter for the wheel balance(computer
bal.),
Did talk him into rotating wheels three times and recheck balance, He even
repopped the bead and reinflated tire to try and get a better set. But to no
avail, Has
alittle more bounce in the 50-65 range, But not bad. Will check a few places
in Ca.
on next trip on the 15th. Or thinking about the sand in the tire trick. Been
reading
about it, Does anyone have "The Best One"? Negatives ? For the inside of
the tire
balancing. Thanks for any info!!!
>From our last trip to Havesu two/three months ago and in 15* + more heat, By
just
taking out the old 3 tube cooler and putting in the 16 tube cooler has
improved my
tranny temps by about 45-60* (still hot but what the HE-L) Sin oil and Alu.
tranny pan
only 15-30* on same trip/weight. Did have a slight vapor lock at start of
stoplight close to
home, (Still have to replace elec. fuel pump) Let off slightly and off we
went!!! Our fan
came on and stayed on longer this trip but engine temp. just got up
acouple clicks
above 1/4 mark. So I guess its doing great.
