Jerry... I too bought the G159s. Very happy with them.

I recently bought a 76 Royale 26'. Does not handle well. I have had the
steering rebuilt without much change. Shocks are OK. Dana air compressor
is being rebuilt but not a factor in handling. I am about to buy Alcoa
wheels and new tires I am trying to identify the best tires, with the
emphasis on stability and improved handling. Radials or bias ply? Any
suggestions? Thank You. Jerry Hartley hartleyj

After a long period of investigating the possible new shoes for my coach, I
purchased Goodyear G159's. They are steel belted radials that will take the
sidewall flexing that the rear 4 wheels are subjected to. I have used them
on my 42 ft race car trailer (when I could get them) and never had a
blow-out even though the trailer is very heavy and driven long distance
fast.

I sold for The Wynn Oil Co for almost 10 years and I still had some contacts
in the tire stores. I heard some negative about most of the major brands
except Goodyear. So I combined what I thought was good advice and
experience. The Goodyears are not the least expensive, by far, but my life
depends on good tires.

Did you have the steering box adjusted or replaced? That is often overlooked by
the best and seems to be the answer even with low milage coaches. A lot neters
are installing NAPA units and saving a lot. This is a do-it-yourself if you
have any skills at all. You will need an alignment after you get done. How
about new bushings for the stablizer?

I, too, am running Goodyear G159's and will replace with the same. Maybe there
are some equals but I don't think there are any that are better.

Jerry,

I second the motion of replacing the steering gear. This assumes your front end
rebuild was suspension/steering components other than the gear box.

Been there done that,
