Tire size calculator

Dick:

To bad the calculator doesn't allow for inputting the original/former
coach tire size (e. g. 8.75R-16.5).

The recent discussion of tires reminded me of a useful little tire size
calculator on the web which makes it easy to compare different sizes and
aspect ratios. Thought I'd pass on the URL:

Paul,

I agree.

If the original tire is a "78" profile then the diameter of the original
16.5" tire is 30.15" vs. 29.2874" for the 225/75R16's that we are now using.

Dick:

Last year when I changed over to Alcoa wheels and purchased 16"
Bridgestone tires, the dealer told me the original or 8.75 R-16.5
Michelin XPS tire I had on the coach have an O.D. of 29.2" and the
225/75R-16 tire has an O.D. of 29.3", which correlates with your 29.2874
number below. Hence the 225/75 is a close fit for the original.
