While finalizing my pre-departure checking of tires etc I found several
sensors failing to alert due to what turned out to be dead batteries.

I'm changing all of them, but am a little miffed that they are spent already
as the system was only installed in March.

I mention it so that anyone else that has purchased the Tire Sentry system
can keep alert. Perhaps I would've got a low battery alert had the coach
been in use regularily, but in my case I didn't. I did get a warning on most
as I removed them while checking tire pressure and then on the reset they
didn't come back.

I'm going to chalk this first change up to tests during install doing extra
depleting, but at 20 batteries a crack I do hope this set lasts closer to
"as advertised", which was a year, I think.

This may make that "smartire system (TMS) look even better --
There is a centrifugal switch within the wheel unit -- too save
the lithium batteries -- which are reported to last 7 years
- --longer than I would want to keep a set of tires on my GMC

I wonder if the smartire device could be used -- to keep tabs on
the condition of the front wheel bearings -- via the
temperature sense function????
