I' m new to this GMC stuff. My wife and I are having our "new " 1978
Birchaven redone at Buskirk- Rush. Time to decide on new tires. Totally
confused. Seems like every one we talk to has a different opinion. Narrowed
it done to either: Michelin LTXAS's or Goodyear G159's. Both are 225x75R16-
Load range E. The Goodyears's will run approx. $200 more for a set of seven.
Looking for
some input as to which way we should go? We will be putting them on new
Alcoha 16" wheels.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Ps- Buskirk has just finished the exterior repaint on the coach. It really
looks great. they are very competent folks and a real pleasure to deal with.
Best of all, it's nice to sleep at night not worrying about how bad I'm
being taken. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Nope you want either the Goodyear G159s or the Michelin XPS all steel load
range E, not the LTXASs they are not an all steel tire.

|Go with the G-159 tires.

Or the Michelin XPS from Sam's if you can't find fresh G-159s.
And I doubt that you will be able to. If you do find them check the date
codes. Carefully. You may find they're over a year old.

Sam's will have to order your tires, they are (stock keeping unit) SKU
005670; mfg stock # 8404; 225-75-16 LT-E XPS-Rib.

I just paid $129.99 each less state sales tax and environmental fees.

They used 5 sticks of 1/2 ounce tape on weights to balance all 6 wheels,
which I provided. Those cost me $2 a stick.

Had you tried the top of the line Michelins (225-75-16 LT-E XPS-Rib ) that have
been recommended here? Have you ever had to buy a replacement G159 on the road?

Thanks to all of you who repsponded to my post re: tire replacement. Just
ordered a new set of Goodyear G159s, hopefully they will be "fresh ones"!
