I believe if you check into it, regardless of the manufacturer, the number
on the tire sidewall is the maximum amount of air a given manufacturer
recommends. As far as I know, that number pertains to the air pressure the
manufacturer requires in that tire for its maximum weight carrying capacity.
Note I said MAXIMUM capacity. Your dealer can give you a copy of the tire
pressure chart for your tire's.
To see an inflation table example, go to: http://www.trucktires.com/, click
on the Bridgestone bar on the top, click on Load/Inflation Tables, and then
scroll down and click on Light Truck Radial Tires and the go to the tire
size.
