Tire Failure

Roger.
I have not had a tire failure, in fact I have only put on about 300
miles since I bought my coach this last July.
However... I have a twist to add to the tire failure "thing". (please
forgive me)
When I purchased my coach, I did so knowing that I had to re-do the rear
bogie bushings and pins.
There was about 3/4 inch of in/out play at the tire on the front bogies,
and a lesser amount on the rears.
When I took the coach for a 50 mile test run (prior to buying), the back
of the coach had a film of black rubber dust from the tire wear.
Although the rears had almost as much pin/bushing wear, only the front
bogie tires showed wear! Really!
I fixed the wear, as new tires would be gone in 500 miles.
The strange thing is that after fixing the wear, there was little or no
differance to handling.
(I do not want to start anything here.)
Perhaps there is a direct relation to tire failure on the front bogies
because they are "pushing" instead of "trailing" as the rears do! I
agree that in-town scrubbing does occur, but how much wear does it
contribute compared to long highway miles. (I don't want to start
another issue on that)

I am going to join the Black List now that I received my bearing
puller)
(Roger have you purchased a unit yet? There is one in Bakersfield for
$4500 with new tires/alcoas?)

Regards, Gil
