Just had my Michelin, XPS, LT215/85R16 LRE tires mounted on the ALCOA
wheels. There seems to be very little diameter difference comparing
them to my old 950 R 16.5 XPS. Is there a clearance problem using this
size that I should be aware of.

Herm:

If I remember right, the original 8.75R-16.5 coach tire diameter is 29.2
inches. Nowadays, the 225/75-R16, normally at 29.3 inches, is a close
match.

You should be able to find the diameter of your size tire.

If you want more reading on this subject, a back issue of Cinnabar's
newsletter had a lengthy article on tires and Alcoa wheels.

The 950s give me 3/4" skirt clearance with the Bag deflated.
