Now I think I have a bigger problem. I have been hearing a noise from
the
driver side of my engine (455).

Find a piece of flexible tubing, (I use a 5/8 piece of tubing about 2.5
feet long used in drip irrigation) and put one end in (sort of ) your
ear and run the other one along where the exhaust manifolds meet the
heads. If your tick is something as simple as a leak, this is a sure
fire way to locate it. If not, we'll try something else.
