Throttle Extension

My wife is an excellent driver, has no problem driving the GMC. However
she is a shortly and when she adjusts the seat properly she is
practically pressing straight down on the throttle. Very tiring after
only a short time. Any suggestions on a solution.

Don't say "Don't let her drive." We are a team, she drives, I sleep.

Fixing the cruise control was the best thing I've done for making the GMC
easier to drive.

What are her ergonomics, in her/your car... has she found an arrangement
that is not so tiring in the the car as opposed to the GMC? Are you
saying she has to sit up higher in the GMC... and then when she moves the
seat forward, it is too high off the floor board for easy throttle
control? Is there any room above the existing accelerator pedal, in your
coach, to build a second accelerator pedal over (higher than) the first
accelerator?

In order to get a good driver to drive while you sleep, I would spend a
lot, modifying the under dash trim pieces to create a leg slot with a
heel rest to support her foot. Heck, I would even trim the edges in mink
or some politically correct alternative, for the right driver.

I see it as a foot stool with an accelerator pedal (built in), pulled
towards the firewall with bungee cords hooked into some eye bolts to hold
it there. HEY those imitation foot print accelerator pedals they sell in
the auto stores, would make it look like it was a factory option,
especially with the mink in the 197x's
