Thermostats!!

A Motor running a 195 Thermostat most assuredly DOES RUN HOTTER than one
running a 180 thermostat. And the thermostat for either does not start
opening until it gets up to temperature, so they both heat up at almost
the same rate. My GMC actually warms up faster than my car does, and
the car has a 195.
And the thermostats are not just open and close, they vary their
openings to maintain the proper temperatures. Only when the temperature
exceeds the thermostats limit are they wide open and therefore no longer
able to 'control' the flow. ( at least not until the temperature is
reduced enough to allow them to regulate again).

As for emissions, my GMC passed with flying colors at less than 10% of
the allowable limits. The inspector thought I had catalytic converters,
and was astonished when I let him know it didn't.

And gasoline doesn't condense at 180, so the 'loss of lubrication' claim
doesn't wash!!

And if heat is the power, why does the power go up if you feed in COLD
air!! Heat is a by-productof the combustion product!! The internal
combustion engine works due to a rapid expansion of gases. It actually
works best if you could prevent the conduction of the 'heat of
combustion' to the rest of the engine, and just quickly exhausted it
after using as much as practical of the combustion pressure. Gee, almost
sounds like ceramic engines and header systems!!
