Hi Lanier,
I DO NOT have a thermasan although I thnk that I'd like one. So, since I
had a few "spare" moments today, I decided to look up Thermasan and their
patents on the unit.
There are three patents, one of which is readily available to me. So, if
you take a look at
www.henry-davis.com/GMC
you'll find a cut apart version of the basic patent. There are a number of
figures and the text of the patent. Thumb nails don't work well for the
figures so have a little patience while the 125k worth of patent figures load.
According to the patent, there was a screen in the exhaust (30 mesh) and
another in the holding tank, also 32 mesh. The screen in the exhaust was to
break liquids up into smaller drops to facilitate incineration and also
hold the bigger parts in the exhaust long enough to ensure complete
incineration. The screen in the holding tank kept bigger pieces out of the
system.
Thermasan's patents expired in the early 1990s. There are other patents for
waste disposal that are currently active. However, if someone builds units
based on the Thermasan design they should be in the clear. I'm interested
in Thermasan's documentation when you get it.
