The Subject Is Not Changing Subjects Under "Subject

Would it be possible, that each time we respond to someone, if the subject
has changed, we state the new subject under "Subject Huh? It would sure
make it easier to go back and look up something we discussed several weeks
ago if this is done. Anyone agree?.......Jim Davis

I agree with Eugene.

I'd rather have a little fluff than have folks fear the net because they're
not sure or not a sophistocated net user.

I vote for "if it's GMC related and not personal, i.e. for anyone to see"
put it on the gmcnet maillist. As 'netters get experience they'll know when
to send private email, when to and when to change subject line.

I do agree that subject should be changed if the topic of a particular
thread changes. But again, I'd rather weed through a little extra than
having nothing to weed through

The 'net' may be full of garbage but gmcnet is not (IMHO). It's been very
informative to the common goal of keeping our rigs fun and safe.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as calling it *my parade*, but as admin, I'm
pretty content with the signal to noise ratio of GMCnet traffic.
Everyone should keep in mind that there's a very wide range of technical
capabilities amoung our fellow GMCnetters. That combined with new
GMCers coming on board every day means that some subjects will be
repeated regularly and the same basic questions will come up over and
over again. Good FAQ's and Tech pages help some, but won't eliminate
this. Best to just accept it as a fact of life and exercise much
patience. Subject lines not following morphing threads is another
complaint common to most mailing lists. No magic bullets there either.

As long as everybody "plays nice" and the subject relates to GMC's, I
plan to keep a hands-off policy. If there's a problem, I'll deal
privately with the offender, unless there's a trend and then there will
be a general [ADMIN] post. I've never referred to myself as a
*moderator* and I don't plan to be one. Remember, the goal is to get
the information to those that need it. Everything after that is gravy.
