I grew up about 10 miles from the Porsche factory in the Stuttgart area,
Emery, please tell your wife I was born LONG after the end of WW II ), and
everybody pronounces the "E" at the end in that part of the country.
HOWEVER, in the southern part of Germany ( Bavaria ) and in Austria
that's where the first Porsches were built after the war ), they DON'T
pronounce the "E" if they speak the local dialect - that's probably what the
biography was referring to.
So, once again, there is more than one correct answer!
