Purchased a gutted 23' 77 455 GMC in Dec 1977 and had it professional
redone to our unique desires. The GMC net has been very helpful in
confirming that we did the right thing in buying and rebuilding a 20 year
old vehicle. We not only made great contacts and included a lot of the
individual recommendations, but also bypassed some costly mistakes.
We are retired and will be taking off next week in our "new 77", returning
to San Diego when the weather cools down in mid November. We expect to
travel between 12,000 and 15,000 miles, seeing the middle of the US &
Canada this year.
Arch, being retired, we have learned to travel an average of every third
day. The other days we experience where we are. That has been our biggest
change from pre retirement travel, being able to afford to stop along the
way or change plans as we go.
