Well. I've owned my first GMC for about three weeks now. Love it so far and I
haven't even gone anywhere yet. I bought this particular one because it didn't
"need" any work. Well I couldn't leave well enough alone so I took the radiator
out to be cleaned and checked. While I had that out I figured I do the fan
shroud modification. Once I took the brackets off I decided to pull the gas
pump to check the timing chain. Sticking my finger in the gas pump opening, the
chain felt loose (97,000 miles). So, if I'm going to do the chain (ordered a
Cloyes, double roller from JEGS's ((thanks for all the help Manny))), I might as
well put a new water pump in. Called Ray Curtis
but his supply of correct pumps has dried up. He seemed really concerned about
this. After checking around, it seemed Caspro has a very close to OEM type so
ordered one from them. Oh, also ordered a new front engine mount since it has
to come off anyway. round all this off with new oil and tranny cooler lines,
new radiator mounting pads, flush and fill all fluids, I should be all set for
my cross country trip.

Just want to thank the list for all the support, insight and parts suggestions.
