Scott Nehoda tells me I should put some input into the GMCnet so
here goes. I have been following the GMCnet for some time and
there has been much talk about temperatures of bearings, oil, etc. There
is on the market a lazer reading thermometer. This is an aim and read
instrument. I was refered to a company call MSC [ I know nothing about
this co.] . I called them 1-800-645-7270 and was told they carry
this. PN. 86484003 @ $169.00
PN. 00095513 @ $249.00 Eastwood Tool
1-800-345-1178 carries a similar one PN. 43175 @ $129.00
I will take mine out to Scott's so that he can play with and let you
know what he thinks.

Sounds like the gadget I picked up at the Auto Show a few years back.

Watch out re the "similar".
The 169 one (if indeed it's the same) includes a lazer pointer so that you
know exactley what you're pointing at. The visible pointer is a "must" in
how we're attempting to read these temps.

Works great. I'm still working on getting a chart for my rig as to what's
normal when, but it continues to be on the todo list :-)

Irregardless if same or not, be sure anything you buy has a visible pointer.
