I installed a tankless waterheater behind the fridge almost exactly as Ray had done. I have to admit, I am not as happy as Ray with my
installation, but that might be of my own doing. I think I have a ridgeland 8L 2 GPM tankless heater. My issue I think might be because that unit
is too large. Everyone else tends to install a 6L, that is 1.6 GPM

I do not like that it takes too much flow to get it fired off and to get hot water going. I can't just do a small trickle, I have to open up the
sink a bit. When taking showers, shutting on and off of the heater has I shut on and off the water I get a burst of freezing water between turning
on and off as the heater turns on and off.

I intend to probably try a smaller tankless, and/or go back to a water heater tank. for now I have lived with it for two summers.

The tankless makes sense to me if one does little or no dry camping. Given a pretty much unlimited water supply and a dump, the long hot shower
becomes a possibility. Had I kept the 23' - rear tub - I would have installed one. Soaking in the tub after standing on concrete in a show ring all
day is one of life's simple pleasures. I could and did do so with the tank heater, but it had to be set to fairly hot water to make a tub full of
bearable water.

Hot water tankless heaters are instant start and dont care if they are fed
from a tank or a hose. Perfect even for dry campers. :)

We only use our tankless water heater when dry camping. Otherwise we use the OEM electric/engine preheat water heater since we have both.

We always take navy showers, regardless of the source of hot water because of limited black water storage. We rarely if ever camp in places with sewer
hookups.

Adding a tankless water heater is still one of the best comfort upgrades for us.

We have one at home as well. There we can take unlimited length showers if we want.

Sounds like a "modernization" but I've never run out if hot water with the stock coolant loop/electric heater and two people. Given all the problems
and expense I'm having with my Hi tech Carrier Infinity system at home I have to say a big NO THANKS. K.I.S.S.

Hi Jim, We have a 1977 Royale I believe was outfitted by coachman. Im pretty sure the existing water heater is beneath the oven. Its tough to see
since the duct work passes in front. Our model is also a rear bath.

Thanx
