Guys,

I am looking for a recommendation for an inexpensive small tablet to run the WUD on a Howell EBL system? Any advice is welcome.

Do Android tablets work with Winlog?

I'm trying to stay about 8" and below on the screen size.

Take care and thanks again,
Tom

Teclast make a dual boot win/android thing. I have one and use it to watch movies on the road loaded on thumb drives. I power/charge it with USB and bluetooth the audio to a sound bar.

I'm using an "ALLDOCUBE" 10.1" tablet from a few years ago. It was around $100, but the best part is that it's actually full HD resolution. Sadly it seems it's obsolete now.

I'd keep an eye on brightness too. 350 nits (cd/m^2) is mediocre, but usable. Quality outdoor displays are 1000 nits or more, but that would likely be costly. 400-500 nits would be decent within a cab with sunglasses on if you can keep direct sun off it. Reflectance will likely be an issue any way you go. I'm trying to find a way to keep mine oriented so my shirt fills up most of the reflection, and I can just wear dark shirts.

If a tablet doesn't bother to list its brightness, assume it's <300 nits and will be problematic.

Paul , I've been shopping amazon and it's hard to find an eight inch or less tablet that is not android. And even more difficult to find one with good reviews.

Tom, I was using the EBL system for a while. At the time, the one thing I wished I had on the laptop I was using is a touch screen. Trying to use a touch pad or a mouse was awkward and difficult. A touch screen would have made things a lot easier. Just my observation.

Here's my 10.1” 1920x1200 propped up. My goal is to keep it's current orientation and just mount it about 5" higher up.

After using it for about a year, I would not switch to anything smaller or lower resolution. Maybe you'll want fewer things on the screen though.

Not sure, it's out at the coach but will have a look tomorrow. Its a cool unit, runs win10 and android something or other, don't really use the android boot much if ever.

google "Teclast dual boot win10 android Tbook" lots of em out there but looks like discontinued/rare items ....glad I have one!
