Tablet dash Integration

Has anyone come up with a method to integrate a tablet into the dash or an astatically pleasing mount?

I was looking at a digital dash, and then the tablet, but I am starting to feel as you do. Perhaps the gauges are the best method of monitoring the
engine, trans and final.

Why would you connect all your instruments to a single point of failure?

Old fashioned analogue gauges are simple and reliable and they fail one at a time.

I run the Torque App in my modern truck but only because i don't want to clutter the dash with additional gauges.

It's gonna take a lot of Adderall to get this thing right.
 
I use a tablet mounted to the side but only for the GPS feature. I used to use a real magellan gps but it was unreliable because it would not update
properly. Google maps keep me aprised of speed traps and construction. Everything else is guages. I do like my analog GPS speedometer.

So I’m approaching the need to have a ipad installation. I have a old pad that I believe is running Windows 10. I do have analogue gauges running
and plan on keeping them. Would that kind of setup work ok for my TBI/EBL/ECM setup?
Will figure out a mounting arrangement possibly off the left side of steering wheel.

The EBL system software runs under Windows. There is an iPad app called 'Parallels' that lets you control a Windows PC from the iPad. Or, use Remote
Desktop. You'd have to be running both; with the Windows pad hidden away and running EBL software and the iPad for display. Installing WinLog-EBL on
the Windows PC would give you a realistic gauge display of many engine parameters that the EBL captures. You can connect up to 10 additional inputs to
the EBL using the analog ports in the EBL to get other parameters - oil pressure, trans temp and pressure, bag pressures, etc. The EBL software and
hardware is configured to connect certain WB02 and fuel pressure devices to analog ports 0 and 1 which I have done and are working fine.

Shazam!, looks like I hit paydirt with systems monitoring with the EBL. Just have to connect it all together when it comes in, and make sure the
ipads battery stays charged up, who uses a cigarette lighter anyhow anymore?

I think I will try to place the pad off to the left and I will install a USB connector for power. Or, find a permanent mount with the USB built in.

I am in the process of painting the dash and used some of Bob D's advice. I can not tell you how extremely satisfied I am with the results. I did all
the rear bath panels and all the front to include headliner. Looks great.

Now I am off to gauges and dash. I will use a 3 way switch to monitor the trans, final and oil temps and a 2 way switch to monitor the coach and
engine battery. I have to make room for the vacuum, tach, fuel pressure, oil pressure and Digi panel.

Lots to do and a lot of fun. I'm thinking of painting her Cadillac White Pearl.

Sorry I forgot the most important part. I have been using the SEM Color Coat system on the dash and vinyl.
