Hello All......

Guess what......Hell has frozen over !!

If someone would give me specific brand names for the following, I
will be switching:

A Synthetic 30wt. motor oil

A synthetic trans fluid

A synthetic final drive fluid

And finally, the name of a ft wheel bearing grease with an EP and
475-500 drop point rating.

Will I be able to use the same bearing grease for chassis lub in a
gun ?
Can I mix synthetic and "other" based fluids, or must I remove all
traces of the non-synthetic prior to synthetic installation.

Knowledge appreciated..

Hi Mike,

I'd use Mobil 1 20W-50; no need for single wt. It's arguably the best
synth oil available.

Don't have any experience with synthetic auto trans fluid, and I don't
know what should go in the final drive so I can't recommend anything
there. If it takes a standard 90W type gear oil, then I'd use Red Line
synthetic in an 85W-90.

Kendall Super Blue is great bearing grease (dinosaur-based) and Castrol
makes a synthetic that so far works well.

You don't need to worry about a little mixing with the engine oil, but
don't mix the greases. Don't mix any greases.

Mike:

Amsoil synthetic grease has a drip point of > 500 degrees F. They have
several greases , as well as oils, to choose from, so select the
appropriate one. Their Web site URL is: http://www.amsoil.com
