I would run Quaker State, Valvoline, or any other oil in my vehicles
if they paid me a couple of hundred grand! In fact I would run water -
or at least say I run water! I'm not knocking any brand - I've used
QS and Valvoline and others - kind of like fords, chevys and politics.

I worked in marketing for a major oil firm in the 70's, we were testing
a new synthetic at the tracks - I found that many of the cars were not
running the same oil they were advertising! They get paid for the
stickers and wearing the hats! It's called advertising - in real life we
call
it "stretching the truth", or "white lies". In racing it's called paying
the bills. Maybe that's changed now - but I doubt it.

To get drivers to really run our synthetic, we paid fees AND guaranteed
replacement of engines due to lube failure. To my knowledge we never had to
replace an engine and we did improve performance, wear and temperature
significantly.

I use regular oil, just change it religiously every 2500-3000 miles or
90 days. Just my preference. I have thought about synthetics - based on what
I learned in the 70's they are far superior. I am seriously considering
Mobil-1.

But it is a lot of money. And I also have to admit, I have not been let down
buy regular oils.
