Hi guys,
Maybe someone can answer this seeing as how i'm not having any luck finding a used or for sale set of bars.

Which brands are still available?
What make and model of car/van/truck did the oem come from?
Are the rear add ons TZE specific or did they come from something else as well?

Rich, at this point, I would strongly suggest that you invest in a
membership of GMCMI if you are not already a member. That is, by far, the
best spent GMC Dollars that you can ever do. There is a fantastic support
group lurking behind that name. If there are a set of sway bars out there
to be found, this group will know where they are. And any other hard to
locate pieces as well. Next in line would be an introduction to Jim
Kanomata at Applied Air filters and GMC in Fremont, California, and an even
bet to know where these pieces are. Jim Bounds at the COOP in Florida is
also a very knowledgeable source for such things. This is possibly the best
advice that anyone can provide to you.

Jim,
I have spoken to JimK on the phone as well as visited (purchased) him in Cali.

As for JimB....no visit but purchases.

The GMCMI subscription would be a great option and i may do that but getting things back/forth accross the boarder is a tedious affair at the momment
but you are correct i do need the link to the community. Im just suprised, coming from the rare muscle car community that there is so little "for
sale" items.

These coaches have a much wider suspension width than any muscle car I have
ever seen. That rules out any side to side suspension sway bars from that
crowd. Caspro used to be the go-to company for HD sway bars, shocks, and
hydraulic steering dampeners, but, alas, they have faded away into the
sunset. I will put some feelers out, to see what I can locate.

Either I or my son, Alan, have a single Caspro rear sway bar available --
somewhere. There's only one, because we removed it from Alan's X-Palm
Beach to enable him to level the rear of the coach -- with two back there,
it was essentially impossible to level side-to-side. But we're a LONG way
from Ontario, especially for such an ungainly package. Let me know if you
want me to find and get a price for that bar.

I often say that people come to the GMC Motorhome because of the hardware and stay because of the people. I could tell you stories all day long about
the amazing people and the generosity of spirit in the GMC community, but it's better if you just reach out yourself and find out. Yes, these are
strange times, but this too shall pass. So in lieu of going to rallies reach out to people, pick up the phone, send an email, find out who these
people are. You'll get a lot more out of it than finding some parts....and you'll find the parts too!

This is not a muscle car community. Pontiac was cranking out something like 50K Firebirds a year in the 70's - there were less than 13K GMC
Motorhomes made in the 6 years of production. There are a _lot_ fewer parts out there, and you seem to be looking for a number of aftermarket GMC
Motorhome parts. Generally those are on coaches and being driven around. On top of that it's an older community so the "piss and vinegar" levels have
subsided (for the most part!), and packing stuff up and shipping things seems like, well, work. But go to a GMCMI, or pretty much any bigger GMC
rally, and you'll find gold at the swap meets, often for "I just want it to go to a good home" prices.

You'll find out, like most people here did, that you were looking for a part or some technical advice, and accidentally found a life long best friend.
I look forward to meeting you. When things ease up and we can go to rallies again, first beer's on me. Beer is cheap in the US - I can afford it.

I hear you Sir....the 2 cars i restored for myself were very limited (one of 2 known made and the otger was ine of 1500 but a lone year) so i
understand the need to make one part of tge community.

Not to make excuses but i normally travel for a living so its hard to actually be around enoigh but our goal is to get to a big rally once things
clear up a bit.

If I am remembering correctly, Steve Ferguson, in his control arm seminar, stated that the heavy duty sway bars are hard on the tab where the sway bar
link bolts to the lower control arm.

Steve sai9d this is a common failure point and these need to be reinforced, especially if you are running a heavy sway bar.

There is / was an aftermarket company making those sway bars in North Carolina. They made theme for several companies including Caspro. Caspro had
their's painted red. They ordered some and then did not pay for them so the manufacturer sold them off cheap. That is where mine came from years
ago. I will try to strain my brain and remember the company name.

Anyone know the diameter of the front bar? I want to order bushings but no kne lists them by model only by size.....im guessing 1" as that seems to be
the most popular GM size.

The most accurate way to determine what YOUR COACH has on it for sway bar
diameter, is to crawl under the coach and measure it yourself. Then, you
know.
