Arch and Anyone Else That Might Be Interested.......The vehicles that had
the vacuum pump were the 82 Cadillac Cimeron, 84-86 Celebrity
Chevrolet,84-86 6000 Pontiac,84-86 Sierra Oldsmobile,82-85 Chevrolet
Citation, Pontiac Phoenix, Oldsmobile Omega and Buick. You'll find these
pumps on the driver's side front fender well. There's a small filter that is
on the line just before the pump. Insist on getting the filter with it, and
the electrical plug that goes to the pump.. You may have to go out in the
yard with the knuckle dragger to show him what you're talking about. From
left to right on the lugs, the first lug is 12 volt constant. The second one
from the left is ignition switch or toggle switch. The fourth one is ground.
Get your alligator leads out and you'll be able to figure out the third lug.
I've got my pump set up on a toggle switch for emergency use on downhills
and for extra vacuum at altitude. Understand that these pumps are not for
constant usage, so you'll need some sort of a switch, either manual or low
vacuum. For frosting on the cake, while you're out wandering through the
grease, pull a one gallon vacuum reserve tank off anything that has one.
These are nice for higher altitudes and are just a little more cheap
insurance........Jim Davis
