I installed the Suburban SF-30 under the sink in my 73 Painted Desert.
I installed it to the left of the original location about 4" (the SF-30
is much lower profile than the old NT-22). The exhaust/vent on the unit
is on the left side, the NT-22 had it on the right side. I used the old
vent hole as a service access door. Where I mounted it I have access to
service switch, gas hookup and control board. I just re-installed the
old vent with a piece of rubber sheet to seal it up. I will pickup a
service door from Campers World when I get a chance.

Furnace is quieter and takes up less space and really puts out some
heat. I have a 24x18x10 space under the unit to keep pots, pans and
Budweisers where nothing was available before.

isolator which was shot with a 120 amp unit. Combiner required rewiring
and I dont have time. Can I use a combiner to feed the starting battery
and put a combiner after the isolator to feed front and rear coach
batteries seperately at a later date?

Do you think I have time for a quick 6 foot chassis extension and paint job.
Unfortulately work takes up about 12 hours a day.

Hummmmm

Combiner requires no rewiring. Uses the same wires as the isolator.

That is exactly what I thought. The combiner I got from West Marine showed
(I believe) the ground being hooked up to the combiner. I consider myself
pretty good with schematics (old electronics hobby) but found the drawings
confusing. I am sure stress has something to do with it.

Given enough time to think about it, followed by consultation with our
resident gurus, I am sure I could have figured it out. For now, it was
easier to take the 20 second time out and punt.

Yep there is a ground , and that is because there are electronic elements
in there.... Good luck, give me a note when you have the time and we will
work on it.
