Someone give this man a cigar to reward his keen observation and clear
thinking.

I failed to make this connection when I read the high mileage with no
problem offset wheel report and am delighted he noticed and reported it.

Thanks Zak, even after the Arch wheel bearing survey and the abundant
evidence pointing toward poor previous maintenance, I had a tiny lingering
concern.

Your observation and the offset calculations have buried any doubt in my
mind about the bearings being plenty strong when used in the OEM
configuration.
