I am looking at the Mondello catalog and wondeing about the stroker
crank. Does any know the pros or cons of this.
Other Jim,
I personally like strokers. The longer the rod, the greater the
torque. Unfortunately, strokers do not use stock pistons since the
additional rod length has to be accomodated somewhere. Usually this
means a raised pin bore, which, of course, means special pistons which
sometimes are mega bucks.
Can your existing setup be salvaged? If not, it would be interesting
to compare the dollar difference between a BBC 502 crate motor with a
Speedway BOP trans adapter to another Olds engine with a stroker kit
installed. Maybe Arch will loan you some of his excess big bucks since
this is "on the edge". (Hadda say that Arch.)
