Now my steering has me confused. Fridge, Gauges & Onan were fixed
with ya'lls good experience. So here is another puzzle for me I need
help with.
When the steering wheel is in the upright position the steering has
a stiff turning feel.
As the steering wheel is lowered it becomes easier to turn with each
position. Also it developes more slop (play) in the side to side
movement of the steering wheel.
In all tilt position's the coach does quite a bit of side to side
sway like it is running in and out of a rut. More sway than I would
expect if the A.C. is causing it to be too top heavy.
It does not track (run straight) on level ground when I let go of
the steering wheel. My cars will track so possibly it is all that extra
weight of the coach?
I have a recent front end overhaul and will do what would seem to
be a partial cure and install Bilstein (?) shocks. I also have new air
bags. I have adjusted the steering pump best as I can from the manual..
Do all I have to do is fork over some more bucks for a steering pump
or is there another "fire" I need to put out. I'm not a parts changer.
I troubleshoot it, try to fix it, use four letter lubrication with
duct tape and bailing wire. Then ask someone who knows.
