Ron: If you haven't purchased the Caspro box as yet, you might like to call
Boje Hjelm at Racemate (416 251 9811) in Toronto about overhauling your
unit. I have found it pricing extremely reasonable and he can put in
whatever gear ratio you like. I have the 12-1 in my GMC pickup and like it
a lot. I put the variable ratio in my coach but would go to the 12-1 if I
was to do it again.

Hi Vic,

No have not ordered Caspro's, steering box/shaft. Still in the thinking
mode!!! You know we just got back last nite from our Raider run, And even
tho I have about 2" of center slop our lady tracks really good, hates them
ruts tho, But very controllable. And on the flat I can let go of steering
and it will tract true and straight. I guess all this rambling means I'll
have more thinking time!!!

Be carefull folks! I thought the same, but when we had it checked it turned
out to be worn splines on the shaft (between the CV joint and steering
box). It was kinda scary cuz there wasn't much left to make contact with
the mating part.

Check it out; have some one turn the wheel slowly from lock to lock(engine
running and in Park, of course) while you determine the source of the play
for sure.

HTH,

BTW, sunny 70 w/ light breeze today (winterized and ready)
