steering damper used on my 78 eleganza

Hermann,

According to an article by Ray Dzierzek in the 5/98 issue of GMCMM,
Chevrolet Part No. 4974098 is a slightly larger damper than original.

you can still get the steering damper at your local NAPA store under the
original part number.
