Steering Column

Hi!

My friend owns a wrecking yard and i Can get from him a Tilt/Telescopic
steering column from a 78 or 9 Eldorado. will this fit into the GMC, He did
say I may have to change the Hi beam wiring. Has anyone ever done this?

By the way, I did get the HEI working at last. Much quicker starts! One
project complete!
