Arch,
As you view the LED's they will glow dimly both on the charger and the
remote panel. The rate will brightly glow indicating the rate present
and the voltage will glow brightly indicating the voltage. The orange
charge light will come on when you first plug the unit or turn it on and
it will cycle the amps until it learns what what charge the batteries
have. You need to understand that the unit will start a new charge
cycle every time that you plug the unit in. I leave mine on shore
power all the time. If longer that 21 days it will start a new charge
cycle automatically. When the Charged light comes on the unit will
provide the first 40 amps for the DC electrical system before drawing
current from the batteries. As you turn DC items on in you coach you
can watch the load come up on the charger. I have the Statpower 40.
