i took the gmc for a ride today, about 10 miles and when i returned and went to start it again i got a delay after a 1/4 crank then it kicked over. is it heat or starter problems? the battery is new

Hi Chris,

Sounds to me like both.....the starter is hot and soaking up amps. I
would have it checked to see what it draws and start thinking about
having it replaced. It isn't a big job, nor is it expensive.

thanx to all for the responses to my previous questions. if i need to replace my starter, how would those fast cranking ones that are half the weight,twice as expencive and more powewrful work?
