Other than the Pyramid 312SX speakers that are harder to find than Kryptonite, Does anyone have a recommendation for a different speaker for the small
ones above your head in with the light? Mine are shot and wont even handle the small Sony cassette player that's in there currently... I am planning
on upgrading all that, and want better speakers in there.

Just looking for what you all may have used, as I know it's pretty shallow in there.

I used these:
PIONEER TS-A878
But don't expect much from a speaker this small.

Check with Matt Colie. I think he was able to squeeze 4x6 speakers in. Much better bass response.

If you do replace them, it's super important to make sure the back of the speaker is sealed from the front (no gaps at edge of speaker, etc) in order
to maximize the small amount of bass you'll have.

The bigger problem is that the speaker is so close to your ear that stereo sound is pretty much impossible. I'd recommend just throwing something
basic in there and then considering different approaches to better sound. Further thoughts here:

I added a plate subwoofer up front (under the driver's seat) - to help "fill" in the sound:

I also added some foam baffles to the rear speakers - which helped TREMENDOUSLY:

They buzzed and rattled before - but sound acceptable now (with replacement two way speakers).

But as you mentioned - no stereo separation up front! I doubt I'll do anything to change that...

I got a pair from Jim Bounds that were pretty much a perfect fit. Give him a call.

Have a look on Amazon. That you have an aftermarket radio helps, you aren't limited to the 10Ohm ones the early (single wire and ground)Delco radios
needed. Get the biggest magnet size which will fit and you will get the best sound, all else eing equal. If you wan concer sound, figure a way to
put bigger soeakers in the kick panels but leave the little ones up top as well.
