I have a great set of 16" chrome steel wheels on my 73 but need a decent
spare. If I go shopping at a auto wreckers what should I be looking for
? Any advice would be appreciated. John Podmore, Ontario, Canada.

When looking for wheels do not forget that the GMC wheels are supported by
the HUB instead of by the LUGS like most wheels. You may find
www.chromewheel.com of interest. The Alcoa 16" wheel for the GMC is
#160213 which is listed for a Chevy. Whether or not you can translate this
number to a steel wheel on this site and assume that it will fit a GMC is
unknown (to me) --- maybe only the bolt patterns are the same???

I think you transposed a number. Shouldn't it be #160231?
