Any body got a part # and approximate price for the
ignition module for a 455 ??
Lanier - funny that you should ask. I've been a
teacher and techy all my life. Never wanted anything
to do with sales - but while I was looking for vacuum
pumps in the junk yard - I got the idea to build up an
"emergency spare parts" kit to sell at the Rayne
rally" - My idea was - I would look for the older
large GM products that used the same HEI distributer
as our 455's and 403's. Then salvage the HEI Cap
(with the HEI coil), the rotor, and the module - take
them home - build a test rig and verify that they were
all operational - add to the package a new Purolator
fuel filter, an assortment of new fuses and a fuse
puller, and include the necessary di-electric grease
to mount the module and coat the terminals. It was my
thinking that at one time or another ALL of us would
eventually have one of these simple components fail
and shut us down completely. Well I assembled 30 of
these little packages (all neatly package in a plastic
bag) and put them on the table in front of my GMC at
Rayne.
well I guess I am not much of a thinker or a sales
person - because I only sold one.
Here's the deal--If anyone would like any of the
remaining 29 packages - I'm selling them for cost -
$17 -and that includes the shipping. I just want to
get rid of my inventory and go back to being the Techy
that I always was.
E-Mail me privately if any one could use one of
"Pete's Follies" - "works in a bag" - kits
