Having just splurged on a Maintenance Manual after five years with a GMC
coach, I am now able to follow the trouble-shooting procedure on my
defective Sol-Aire furnace. Just being able to fix this thing will save me
enough money to pay for the books.

It looks like the IGNITION PAK (a step-up transformer) has gone bad. It has
12 VDC going in, the ground is good, but no output high-voltage going to the
spark electrode.

Who can tell me where to get a replacement Ignition Pak? Or better yet, who
among you has replaced and hoarded an unwanted Sol-Aire, has it lying
around, and would sell me this part?

A call or email would be appreciated.

Bill,

You can check Phred Tinseth's page(http://www.phrannie.org/phredex.html)
for the URL for Dinosaur Electronics. They make replacement control
boards.

Patrick,

I followed your recommendation and checked Dinosaur Electronics for the
replacement IGNITION PAK for my Sol-Aire furnace. No luck yet, but Phred did
give me some other leads to follow.
In the meantime, maybe one of you GMCnet technocrats can help out here.
