just had a talk with al and he thinks if the gas does not ignite after a
while, the braker is popped....

Have to look in manual. does it get hot while running?

Also the batt has to be up with the voltage high so the fan can get up to
speed and turn on the gas.

Gary,
After all the tech advice I might be able to add another possibility. I
think it may be sensing an overheat condition and shutting off. Several
years ago mine was having a similar problem. I removed and disassembled the
heater and found the outside air intake mostly plugged with dirt from mud
dauber nests. I cleaned it out well, put some metal screen under the chrome
exterior louver to prevent further infestation and it is still working well.
Might be worth a try.

Subject: GMC: Sol-Aire Furnace problem

Hey All;

Was wondering if anyone had seen these symptoms before in relation to a
Sol-Aire furnace in a 76 Palm Beach. It puts out heat but for only a couple
of minutes and then shuts off. It can get started again (push the reset
button) but then it doesn't heat and only stays on for a couple of seconds.
What would cause the reset button to pop? It hasn't been run in 10 years, so
could this be the fan dragging?
