G'day all,

I'm installing my new LED clearance lights and discovered a fairly large hole in the SMC underneath one of the clearance lights. Looks like a previous
collision repair. Although not square or round it's about 1 inch hole. I will need drill a hole in the repair area after it's fixed in order to
install a well nut so whatever i do to fix will need to have some strength. Ideas?

Thanks,

Shawn

You have at least two options. Do you have the cab liner out?

Epoxy a sheet of aluminum from the underside ( pre holed for wires) and
mount lamp when set.
If the existing mounts are functional, fill the hole with eurethane sealant
and install lamp.

Whatever is simpler is usually best imho.

The cab liner is not out but it wouldn't be much trouble to remove it. The existing mount is not functional. One of the holes has broken out so there
is no meat at all to attach a well nut. Ill probably go with option A and epoxy something underneath. Thanks for the ideas.
