Originally I had one of those small black fans like they use in boats
to blow out the bilge. A GMC fellow was selling them. Well it screamed
like a banshee, and if I was stopped in traffic, next to some fancy car
that was running quietly, I didn't want to appear like I was in some old
rattle trap, noisy RV from the 70's. After all this thing is supposed to
be a classic-- right.

I had replaced the roof fan with a Fantastic one so was able to take the
old fan and build a small sheet metal cage around the blade only and
fit it into the space above the right header and the firewall. The
spacing is pretty tight but it will suck the air off the top of the
motor and blow it out toward the right air outlet hole similar to what
many have put in for extra cooling.

Now Gene--as for gauges I will have to leave that one for you. My gauge
works like this--When its hot in the motor and outside, and if my wife
stands beside the vehicle, and I turn on the fan, (its quiet so one can
hardly hear it),and if she says its hot I believe her. It seems to move
a lot of air. I once tried to get her to reach out the window down to
where the hot air comes out, but she didn't go for that!! That was
beyond her level of willing help. She'll help with most other
things,except driving, which she hates.

Actually sometime I should put a little timer, or themostat on it so it
will come on when necesary. It would be nice for it to come on for say 5
minutes when one stops so it clears out all the heat and any gas fumes.
At the moment I just have a lighted switch so I remember it is on.
