I'll follow the responses you get, because our '77 Kingsley has the same
final drive 'whine' and always has. I have 78K miles.
I'm considering a change to synthetic final drive fluid to see if that
helps. It's so minor that I'm the only one in my family that hears it.
I can't help you solve the problem, but can confirm that at least one other
coach has it too.
