South East Michigan near DTW
Southeast Michigan and Northern Ohio GMC Owners Network Lunch.
1:00PM 19 January 2019

We are meeting at the: (Same place as December)

Dragon Buffet
15100 Dix Toledo Rd,
Southgate, MI 48195
=> This is in the lot at the intersection Eureka and Dix Toledo.
At this time, I have no information on road closures that might be an issue.

I am hoping for at least one new person this meeting. If you know someone that is an unconnected owner or just interested, pass this to them.

I will try to have the coach board up where ever we land. Look in the middle section.
There is a plan to have a ladies table again this time. At least Mary plans to be there.

The next Network Lunch is planned for 13 February and in the same place. That is unless someone comes up with a better idea.

This is still a non-club event and no membership is required. I plan to keep it that way.

If you would like to get the e-mail reminder for these, send me a note at matt 7323 tze at gmail dot com.

Hope to see you there.

Matt

Matt,
Pretty sure that the "next Network Lunch is planned for 13 February" is a typo, since according to my calendar that date is a Wednesday. I think you
are doing the 3rd Saturday in a month, wihich would make February's get together Saturday Feb 16?

Ken,

If you do want to come in to GI Muni (ONZ) be sure to call me. Either yours truly or someone of my regulars will fetch you.

Two of us are seriously looking at going to ONZ. Co-pilot said yes to the 19th. Now I have just have to decide if I'm going to Quartzsite or not and
look at the weather. I will call as soon as I get it figured out.

I am still in over my head with on this PT Cruiser. I want it fixed and on by I have to go back on it today. This project keeps growing. I also
need to go to CHA for those tanks. I have not set that up yet.

Ken,
Still too soon to get a solid weather for ONZ, but we can make the arrangement for pickup if you contact me when you start your pre-flight.

We will do that a couple of days before then.

Thanks,

Matt,
I had planned on the lunch today, but it looks like the weather is not going to cooperate. Hope to see everyone next month.

I had hoped to tell you guys about the progress on our GMC's new garage home. The framers were here Thursday and Friday and almost finished. Amazing
to me that they could erect a 31' by 28' building with 10' walls in 2 short days. We still have to get it shingled and sided and the 12' wide x 10'
high garage door installed.

Richard,
I was hoping you would make it for just that reason.....
Well, now you will have better pictures.
I am expecting to not see you, Craig and a couple others. Snow is not much here - yet - and we are close enough so if it doubles the drive time, it
is still close.

February is on the 16th...

I hope to be there 16 Feb. Exterior of new garage (Man Cave) should be done by then and all I will have to do is finish the interior which will
probably take me well into the spring the way I work.

Richard,

I was surprised that Craig made it. He did admit that if he had know how bad the driving was, he might not have.
We did have nine there, and that was just about doubling the number of patrons. And it was a real good time as usual and with one new face.

We will be looking for lots of pictures at the February gathering.

Matt - it's cold enough here that we don't have to call the dogs in.

I figured as much on the weather and was happy I didn't make the drive. It was and is still pretty cold, up to 3 F now.

I was surprised that part of the framing crew arrived this morning to finish up some loose ends. They also wanted to make sure their telehandler would
start. They left it's block heater plugged in and it started. The flatbed is on its way to haul it to their next job.

Sure glad we don't have that arctic weather here in many parts of Oregon.
Diesel engines that rely on latent heat in the air for ignition are really
stubborn starters when it gets that cold. Ether is really hard on them.
When I went to diesel school, they taught us to use a shop towel and pour a
bit of gasoline on them. Just hold them near the air intake, they suck in
the fumes and usually start without all the knocking that ether causes.
But that bitter cold soaks into my bones these days. I will trade the
misery of rain for the bitter cold any day. Guess that it is all what you
get acclimated to.
