Selling my coach

The 8 inches of snow in Canada is why I don't live there - was offered a nice job with CBC, but we were cold in Tulsa and everyplace in Canada was
colder'n Tulsa, so I declined and we moved back East.

I have a gentleman who has been asking a lot of questions and appears to have a definite interest in the coach. However, his plan would be export it
to Japan, though not necessarily right away. I have suggested that he contact the forum and ask some questions to make sure that he has some way of
getting support if he did that. I am not sure (in fact I'm pretty sure he doesn't) know what kind of vehicle this is and that it can become a very
large lawn ornament in the hands of the wrong mechanic or upfitter. I mentioned this to him, so hopefully you may hear from him.

As much as I would like to pass my coach along, I wouldn't want someone to take on something that they are unaware of. I had a pretty good clue of
what to expect, and discovered it was more than I could handle. And I am in North America and have the community all around me.

Deb,

Just wanted to throw a waring out there for you about the scams folks
try to pull with online vehicle sales... are you familiar with them?
This one already throws up some red flags (out of the country, and
doesn't really know what he is buying).

A common scam is they send you a fake cashier's check for the price of
the vehicle, plus extra for shipping. You are supposed to deposit their
check then wire the extra 'shipping' money to another person/company.
The fake cashier's check bounces a few weeks later, but you are still
out your money for the fake 'shipping'.

That's just one type of scam... so just be wary. I'd hate to see the
new year start in a bad way for you.

Hey Dave. Oh yeah!! I've seen that one. eBay, kijiji. " I live back east but I'm currently stationed overseas, buying it for my son and need it
shipped." Etc.

I would never sell to anyone that didn't come up and drive her away and cash or bank draft only. No Western Union, cashiers cheques, paypal. I'll
wait to see what if anything transpires.

He messaged back says he has friends with a gmc. So... we'll see.

Hi deb

Please dont discount overseas buyers. we purchased ours sight unseen with hardly any knowledge of these . we are in australia and the coach was in
indiana. it required alot of communicatin back and forth as well as trust on my part there are services like escrow that can help protect your
investment . be open but aware is what i ask as this may be a benifit to all concerned

Hi Trevor. I'm not discounting him at all. He feels pretty legit in our communications. I just wasn't sure he knew what he might be getting into. I'm
pretty confident he is sincere. Logistics will be the hurdle if he decides to make the leap.

Sammy, buy the thing and drive it home, what I did fro S Cal. Fun trip and three years of fun interspersed with repairs. Some my fault, some just
bad luck. If you go southeast my way, use my drive to overnight.

Deb, I worked with two overseas buyers, one in Norway and one in Germany who had me evaluate a coach in Lincoln that was for sale. Lots of pictures, lots of communication and the coach eventually went to the guy in Germany. I am, in fact, still in touch and friends with both of them. Their caution at buying a coach sight unseen underscored their being legitimate buyers. All in all it was a wonderful experience getting to know them. The coach now lives in Germany and looks as good as the day it was minted. My experience with the bumper scammers was completely different, though they talked a good game for a while.

Hi Douglas. Thanks for the input. If it starts becoming serious, we can begin looking at the logistical options for him. We'll see where it goes.
I don't think anyone is in a rush.
But some type of escrow would make both of us feel better I'm sure, no matter who the buyer ends up being.
